Steven Reny, Ali Salim, MD, Audrey Epstein Reny, Zhigang He, PhD, Barbara and Michael Eisenson, Nish Acharya, and Matthew Carty, MD, enjoy a reception following the Stepping Strong-funded Trauma and Innovation Symposium

Dear friend,

On November 1, The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation hosted its first annual Trauma Research and Innovation Symposium at the Brigham. Among the highlights: 15 scientists participated in interactive panel discussions and presented project updates to more than 80 attendees; MIT Professor Hugh Herr, PhD, gave a fascinating keynote address on breakthrough advances in bionic limbs; and four research teams each received a $100,000 Stepping Strong Innovator Award to pursue groundbreaking research aimed at transforming trauma care. Sincere thanks to Michael and Barbara Eisenson for generously supporting a winning project focused on locomotion recovery after traumatic spinal cord injury.

With our thanks and best wishes to you this holiday season,

Mitchel B. Harris, MD, and Ali Salim, MD
Medical Co-directors
